‘June MVP’ Bauer makes final appeal for All-Star ‘Plus One’ votes

Trevor Bauer of the Yokohama DeNA Basestars is making one last bid to make the Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star Game.

The Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star team is down to its final “plus one” vote. After failing to be selected by the fan vote, player vote, and managerial vote, Bauer is pinning his hopes on the “plus one” ballot. “I would be honored to play in the All-Star game,” Bauer wrote on Twitter on Aug. 8, asking fans to vote for him in the Plus One ballot.먹튀검증

Yokohama manager Miura also said, “I hope Bauer is selected. I think not only DeNA fans will want to see him, but also Japanese baseball fans. I think a lot of Japanese baseball fans will want to see him as the last player, and I want to see him.”

Bauer, who signed with Yokohama for $3 million this year, is 6-2 with a 3.53 ERA in 10 games in Japan.

He earned a win in his Japanese debut with seven innings of one-run ball, but was hit hard in the next two games and was sent back to the second team for adjustment time. Since his return, he has won five straight games with six consecutive quality starts.

Most notably, in June, he went 4-0 with a 2.08 ERA in four appearances (30 1/3 innings), earning him monthly MVP honors.

Bauer will take the mound on Wednesday against the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium in Japan. It’s a first-place matchup. Yokohama is two games behind Central League leader Hanshin.

Voting for the Plus One closes at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 12 and the winner will be announced on Dec. 14. This will be Bauer’s last chance to appeal to Japanese baseball fans for an All-Star vote.
