‘5 consecutive losses → Damdam’ Lampard “Brentford? It’s the team that won Man City…”

 Interim coach Frank Lampard, who leads Chelsea, showed a calm appearance even though he has recently suffered a five-game losing streak.

Chelsea lost 0-2 in the 33rd round of the 2022/23 season Premier League against Brentford held at Stamford Bridge in London, England on the 27th (Korean time).

Chelsea scored the first goal with Cesar Azpilicueta’s own goal from a Brentford corner kick in the 36th minute of the first half.

Chelsea struggled to avoid defeat for the rest of the time, but in the end, even a consolation goal did not come out, and Chelsea helplessly gave 3 points to Brentford.

With the loss against Brentford, Chelsea maintained their 11th place in the league (10 wins, 9 draws, 13 losses, 39 points). They also went on a winless streak of 8 consecutive games, including 5 losses in a row.

Meanwhile, interim coach Lampardㅋㅋㅋ벳, who has been appointed as Chelsea firefighter but has not been able to break the winless streak, showed an optimistic attitude despite the loss to Brentford.

Interim coach Lampard emphasized the positives in an interview after the game, saying, “I will not blame the players. Today we controlled the game and created more chances.”

Regarding his recent five-game losing streak, he showed a calm attitude, saying, “I don’t care what the outside world thinks. They don’t understand the conditions under which I’m working.”

As a basis for this, he claimed that “two of the five matches were against Real Madrid,” and “Brentford won against Manchester City at the beginning of this season.”

Chelsea recently faced Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, first and second legs, and lost 0-4 on aggregate, failing to advance to the semi-finals. 

Also, as interim coach Lampard insisted, Brentford defeated Man City 2-1 in the 16th round of the league last November.

However, even though Chelsea, a big club representing the Premier League, lost to Brentford, a mid-table team, Chelsea fans sighed at the calm attitude of interim coach Lampard.

Chelsea, who sacked coach Graham Porter after taking responsibility for poor performance, appointed club legend Lampard as interim head coach on the 6th. Lampard has signed a contract to lead Chelsea until this season.

Interim coach Lampard, who took over as a Chelsea firefighter, has not yet won a win as he has lost all five games since taking office contrary to fans’ expectations.
